I’m Jodie, a qualified psychologist and youth practitioner with years of experience supporting children and teenagers who find it hard to thrive — in school, in relationships, and sometimes even in themselves.

I’ve spent much of my career working with young people at risk of permanent exclusion, helping them rediscover confidence, communication, and self-belief. Through this work, I’ve seen how emotional and behavioural challenges can often be misunderstood — and how small changes in understanding can transform relationships.

My approach combines psychological science with heart and practicality. I don’t believe in overcomplicating things; I believe in giving parents and educators tools that work in real life.

Through Mindgrow Kids, I bring together years of experience across schools, sport camps, and family work to create supportive, realistic resources that empower adults to guide children with empathy and confidence.

A Grounded Approach

What sets my work apart is its realism. I’ve worked with hundreds of young people — from early primary school through to teens — and the one thing they all share is a need to feel understood.

From ADHD and ASD to PDA, OCD and emotional regulation struggles, I’ve seen how diverse children’s needs can be — and how overwhelmed parents often feel trying to meet them.

Everything I create — from The Big Feelings Toolkit to Roots of Calm — is built on one goal: helping families rebuild connection through understanding.

My Book: How to Survive Your Teen

A warm, honest, and practical guide for parents of adolescents — combining evidence-based psychology with humour and compassion.

The Mindgrow Kids Approach

Every behaviour tells a story. At Mindgrow Kids, I focus on helping families and schools understand what’s behind the emotions — and how to respond with calm, compassion, and confidence.

Why Parents Trust Me

With years of hands-on experience in schools and family work, I combine psychology with practicality. My approach is real, relatable, and built on what actually works — not textbook theory.

How I Help Families & Schools

From digital guides and workshops to 1:1 support, everything I create is designed to make life easier, communication stronger, and childhood a little less overwhelming.

Connection starts with understanding -

and understanding can change everything.
